Light Sole Flexi Jig Shoe with a rounded toe. This shoe provides an excellent balance between flexibility and support. Comes complete with Rutherford Sound Blaster tips and heels along with a supporting strap, which means the sound will be second to none. Rutherford Flexi hard shoes are excellent Irish Dance Shoes for adults and the more advanced younger dancers. The tips are very thick with a round toe, and they can make a very loud sound for any dancer. The heels are wide for easier clicking. Great for women with medium to wide feet and for any boy or man. fitting and return policies before ordering.
Rutherford's started out as a one man operation in the late 1970's. John Rutherford is a native of Cootehille, Co. Cavan. He's the father of five children who were involved in Irish Dancing, in particular the competitive end of Irish Dancing, and saw a need for improvement in the sound and durability of the existing plastic heels & tips containing only a small narrow layer of fiberglass.

There are two types of tips to choose from: RP HyTech tips and Sound Blaster tips.
Rutherford HyTech Tips Available in both round and squared-off tip (preferred by those who do a lot of toe walking). Very, very loud sound and the most durable tip on the world market today. Exceptional sound and reaction under the strain of competitive footwork and movement. The crisp, clean sound of these tips is truly phenomenal.

Sound-Blaster Sand Glass Tips, available in both round and squared-off tip, has all the remarkable qualities of regular Rutherford Hytech Tips, but includes a specially formulated micro-sand mixture which has earned the nickname "sound-blaster". This tip is without question, the loudest tip available anywhere. For sheer sound, there is no louder. Sand glass tips have more traction and help eliminate the need for duct tape. Duct tape is unsightly and certainly deadens the sound of the tips. Factory quality tests have shown that the Sand Glass Tip helps eliminate up to 50% of slipping.
